Without a vacuum cleaner today anywhere, it plays an important role in the household. We regularly use this device to restore order in the house. They can remove dirt from the floor, clean upholstered furniture, carpets and even curtains.
Sometimes it seems that this is a universal device, a real terminator that can cope with anything. Not certainly in that way! It turns out that there are some pollution that can never, in any case, be vacuumed.
1. Glass fragments
Small glass chips should not be vacuumed, it is better to use other methods.
You wiped dust, inadvertently dropped a glass or a vase and now shattered glass is lying on the floor? I want to take a vacuum cleaner and quickly remove this mess. Do not do this! Pieces of glass may damage the device. For example, if you have a model with a garbage bag, then you can easily tear it, which means that you have to spend even more time on cleaning.
The glass can also scratch the inside of the unit or get stuck in the hose. How to be? The best way to solve a problem is to carefully assemble large pieces of glass with your hands, without forgetting to protect your fingers with gloves, and remove small pieces with a slice of bread. Lightly press the bread against the shard. You will see that the glass will adhere to it, and you can quickly and easily clean the surface. You can moisten the bread and rumple it a little, then the garbage will stick even better.
2. Wet cleaning
Before vacuuming, make sure that the floor is dry.
When you clean the cluttered apartment, the first step is often more often cleaning the floor, carpet or laminate with a vacuum cleaner. Dust and fine dirt disappear inside the device, as if by magic. It happens that some parts of the floor are wet, but you still turn on the equipment so as not to waste too much time.
Never do this if your vacuum cleaner does not have a wet cleaning function. If moisture gets into a regular appliance, mold may appear there. In the worst case, it will simply break, and you will spend money on repairs and time to clean the floors while you wait for repairs. So the next time you are going to clean the dirty floor, first make sure that it is completely dry. And then turn on your favorite cleaner and get down to business.
3. Cosmetics
If you scattered the smallest powder, do not go for a vacuum cleaner.
If you scattered cosmetic powder, you may be tempted to grab a vacuum cleaner and gently clean everything. It doesn't matter what kind of powder it is, it also doesn't matter what kind of flooring you have - just don't do it. Because in most cases, small particles will be scattered throughout the room, and not removed. In addition, if you drop a cosmetic bag, from which several objects fell out and scattered, for example, eye shadow and powder, they can tightly “mate” with each other, and yes even melt. This is very bad, as the vacuum cleaner may be clogged. It is better to try to collect the microparticles using a normal damp cloth.
4. Spilled hair
Remove your hair with a broom or cloth, a vacuum cleaner will not work here.
You decided to cut the bangs or shorten the tips of the hair, and now the floor is full of hairs of different lengths. Familiar situation requiring immediate cleaning. Stop! Only not a vacuum cleaner. After all, you do not want your hair wrapped in brushes so that you have to clean the bristles for hours afterwards? And small hairs have a feature that is easy to clog in any, even the smallest crevices. Take a better broom and just sweep the floor. It is even easier to lay out old newspapers or plastic wrap before cutting to throw them away afterwards with the garbage.
5. Only not in the repair
A construction vacuum cleaner is intended for cleaning construction dust.
When repairing, there is always a lot of garbage, especially when a drill is used. Concrete and brick dust scatters everywhere, causing irritation and a desire to quickly remove it. The hand itself reaches for a domestic vacuum cleaner, but you need to stop. The fact is that the construction dust is very fine, it is able to seep through all the filters and get straight into the motor. If it penetrates the bearings, it will be almost impossible to help the device.
By the way, the type of the device does not matter much here, since construction "pests" perfectly crawl not only through any cyclone filters, but even through bags of paper and textiles. Please note: in the warranty card you can always find the item, which says that the vacuum cleaner that was used to clean the construction dust is not subject to warranty repair.
6. Is it possible to collect mercury with a vacuum cleaner
Never collect mercury with a vacuum cleaner if you do not want to get seriously ill.
It is not necessary to remind that mercury is hazardous to health: if its vapor gets into the respiratory tract, a person can get serious poisoning. You should not take this toxic substance in the hands, it is very bad for the mucous membranes. How can such a dangerous element get into the house? This usually happens when someone breaks a mercury thermometer. In this case, mercury drops should be immediately collected and taken to a disposal facility.
To clean the floor, many grab a vacuum cleaner and begin to catch nimble balls. This is a huge mistake! Such actions can turn ordinary household appliances into a dangerous device that emits mercury vapor. And he will do it for a very long time, that is, each cleaning will turn into a voluntary slow suicide. Do not risk your life.
7. Dusty wires - not for a vacuum cleaner
Wires collect dust, but they should not be vacuumed to avoid breakage.
Computers and other equipment easily collect dirt, especially wires. It seems to be very simple - take and vacuum these dusty cords. In fact, this is a very bad idea, as a rough attachment can damage them from the inside, breaking and exposing the insides. Do not experiment, because even the densest-looking wires simply fail. You will have to buy a new one or even change a microwave, stove, or other device.
